More bio's to be added soon...
I joined the Junior Section of the 2nd Bedford Boys' Brigade Company in 1976 and had a great time 'Living the Adventure'. There was; Football, Canoeing, going to the Annual Camp, the competitions against other BB Companies, playing in the Band, having a great group of friends and ultimately becoming a Christian.
I then set off on my travels, being the Founder Captain of 4th Bedford (1993), and then a year later founded the 1st Douglas (Isle of Man). 5 years later I returned to Bedford and assisted at 3rd Bedford (Priory) before returning to 2nd as their new Captain in 2002 where I served in that role until Dec-2016, taking the BB/GB companies to have in excess of 125 Members.
In 2015 a call went out to start the 1st Wootton Boys' Brigade and having lived in the village since 1999, I jumped at the chance. The new company launched Jan-2016.
I am a do-er & so, I've also been involved at a wider level, holding many positions from Development Officer, Vice President and most recently Battalion President from 2009-2021.
We have 11 local companies in Bedfordshire & Milton Keynes, operating in different denominational churches. And I've also held many National roles, from Chairman of the E&W Youth Forum, to Brigade Ambassador, was one of the Fundraising Committee to raise £1m for our National HQ redevelopment in 1992, & also took on the role as organiser of the National Competitions, which covers sports from football, chess, table tennis, badminton, a quiz and even one that I founded 30 years ago, 10 Pin Bowling. I have also just completed a 3 year term as the Regional Rep for the South Midland District on the E&W Regional Committee (2019-2022)
More recently I have joined the BADOTSA Marching Band, Bugles & Drums of the Steadfast Association, and enjoyed Massed band tours or N.W. England and Scotland, and run a Marching band at 1st Wootton
I am a firm believer in the BB Method, its a fantastic chance for young people to enjoy life, to learn good Christian Values, to have fun and to Live the Adventure!

Joined 2nd Bedford GB (Brickhill Baptist) at the age of 4 and continued through to leadership, gaining the GB's Brigader Brooch (Higher Award) on the way.
1995 became a Founder Officer of 1st Douglas (Isle of Man) GB (Broadway Baptist).
On returning to Bedford 1999 (there was no longer a 2nd Bedford GB - closed 1997), I joined the leadership team at 1st Bedford GB (St Lukes Church, St. Peters Street).
When that company sadly closed after 60 years of service to the local community, I became a leader at 2nd Flitwick GB (Flitwick Methodist)
And then when the opportunity arose in 2004, became the Founder Captain of the reformed 2nd Bedford GB (Brickhill Baptist)
In 2016 I became the Founder Captain of 1st Wootton Girls' Brigade, and remained an Officer (not Captain) at 2nd Bedford until 2020/21 when covid stopped many things.
I also have some experience of the Boy's Brigade, having ran an Anchor Boys section at 4th Bedford BB for a session in 1993, where Allan was the Captain.
I've run numerous GB events, from camps, to competitions, to trips away, to displays to... well everything really. Girls' Brigade helps girls live Life to the Full, and we'd love to welcome your daughter to our company.
