During 2022-23 Session we'd like to support a number of Charities and Good Causes, below are listed ways you can help for each.

Bedford Foodbank
Our church has been helping the Bedford Foodbank for a number of years. Recently the need has grown so much, that the Foodbank is struggling to cope.
Starting from now, we'd like the Brigades at Wootton to help this cause and below are items that they greatly need. Whether your new to this or an old hand, its suggested that when you do the shopping to put 1 extra item into your basked (for the foodbank). This will build up over the month. We know some already do this elsewhere (which is fantastic), so please keep doing that. But imagine if, 25%, 50% or 75% or our members got one item a week. What a blessing we could be to our community.
When we return in September, we will have a collection box by the sign in desk and items to donate can be placed there. Please note that items should have a good date life - else the item is not accepted (suggested 3+ Months)
Current Items Requested by the Foodbank:
Fruit Juice (Longlife), UHT Milk, Breakfast Cereal (not porridge), Tinned Vegetables, Cup-a-Soup, Tinned Spaghetti, Coffee (100g), Teabags (40/80), Tinned meat in sauce (e.g. curry, chilli), Jars of Curry Sauce, Tinned Fruit, Tinned Tomatoes, Washing Up Liquid, Anti-Bac Spray, Toiletries.

CHRISTMAS SHOEBOXES (OPERATION CHRISTMAS CHILD)
Very excited to say that the Brigades and our churches new Treasure Seekers group will be partaking in this years Shoebox Appeal. They need to be ready for dispatch by November so no time to lose.
We've not taken part for the past 2 years (due to Covid) and would be awesome if we could make up for it this year with a bumper supply of filled boxes. This is quite a well known Christmas appeal, but if you need more info on these, please do msg me. Otherwise, details are in the images supplied and more info to follow over the next couple of months. A Collection box will be available each week for items at the BB/GB Sign in desks on our return.
We know that the Cost of Living Crisis is hurting many in the UK, however, for the Shoebox children, this might be their only present this Christmas. Let show them we care.
Candle Project
Do you have any old candles lying around the house, that have wax left in them, or broken ones, or ones you don't like ? etc... We're aiming to have a recycling candles activity this autumn and needs some stock to work with.
So if you need a clear out or have some you'd like to donate, please start gathering them up & we'll have a collection area from the first night back. Thank you
