RUBRIC: 31/3
FOCUS: We need to understand the central ideas of what this unit is about. It's very different to the other units and requires you to discuss more than just the themes and context.
Today we are going to read through the key parts of the rubric. After that we will look at two introductions that were written for other texts in the Module, to give you a broad view of what this topic is about. There are two versions from now on - Advanced English and Less Advanced English. We will be completing the same questions and TEPAs, but the readings will be simplified each time to help everyone access the work.

Prospero, the exiled Duke of Milan in The Tempest, uses his magical powers to control the island and its inhabitants, orchestrating events to regain his position.
Prospero’s story is also one of redemption and relinquishing control, as he ultimately forgives his enemies and abandons his magic.
Do you think that his story resonates today with the way we perceive political leaders?
