What is YouTube?

YouTube is a video streaming service that encourages users to upload content. You do not need to have a user account to watch videos, only if you choose to upload content. Videos can be found on almost any topic imaginable as “every minute, 72 hours of video get uploaded to the site” (Walker, 2018, para 13).

• You can create your own YouTube channel to allow for your own videos to be uploaded.
• Closed captioning is an option which is helpful for ELL students, or when you are unable to listen to a video, but still want to watch it.
