Piktochart..
Piktochart as a design tool allows you to use it to create new graphics that look professional, but it also provides an inroad into the idea of data narratives by using information and data to tell a story. Knowing how to do this is a marketable skill, but also can improve student presentations and get them thinking about information in new ways.
You can sign up for a free account either with an email address or by connecting your Google and Facebook account in. As long as there's no student data being shared any method should be fine.
A quick introduction to Piktochart and what it is and a look at some of the different packages available and which is best for educational use.
Goes through the sign-up process and what information might be useful for someone choosing to use this for education.
This screencast shows off what Piktochart is capable of and examines the tools.
Piktochart isn't the only tool available for this task. Using a Google Slide and resizing it to poster size one can easily utilize Google Drawings to semi-replicate the way Piktochart does things. What is not available, however, is the data interpretation that Piktochart provides. If one wants that it must be done manually. On the other hand this gives far more control over colour palette and associated design choices rather than being restricted to predefined templates.
