Finger Paints Combine ½ cup of dry detergent or a capful of liquid soap with 2 tablespoons of liquid starch. Beat with an egg beater until thick. Add food coloring to make different colored paints. Happy painting!
Homemade Clay Combine 2 cups of flour with ½ cup salt. Add 1 cup of water and 1 teaspoon of oil. Mix with your hands. If the clay is too stiff, add more water. If the clay is too wet, add more flour. When the clay is at the thickness you like, knead in 1 teaspoon of hand lotion. Use the clay immediately or store in refrigerator.
Soap Bubbles Mix 1 cup of water with 2 teaspoons of liquid dish detergent. Add ½ teaspoon of sugar and 1 teaspoon of glycerin.* Mix all ingredients well. Use the mixture immediately. Blow your own soap bubbles using household items like plastic hangers.
*(Glycerin can be purchased at any drugstore.)
Make homemade Play Dough!
1 cup water
1 tablespoon cooking oil
2 teaspoons cream of tartar
1 cup flour
½ cup salt
Mix well. Heat ingredients in a frying pan until a ball forms. Add a touch of food coloring. Let cool and have fun!
Peanut Butter Play Dough
Peanut Butter
Powdered Milk
Few spoonfuls of honey
Mix with hands. Add powdered milk until it makes a dough that pleases you. Tastes good, too!
Silly Putty
2 cups Elmer’s Glue
1 cup liquid starch
food coloring if desired
Mix well with hands until all of the starch is blended. Have fun!
