About the Vestal Hills schedule:
Our school day begins with student arrivals at 8:40 a.m. and attendance at 8:50 a.m.
Students depart at 3:20 p.m. (pickups), 3:20 p.m. (walkers) and 3:30 p.m. (buses).
Every day, students have lunch (30 minutes), recess (30 minutes) and snack (in class, brought from home).
We operate on a 6-day cycle.
Kindergarten students have P.E. 5 days per cycle, music 2 days per cycle, art 1 day per cycle and library 1 day per cycle.
Students in grades 1-5 have P.E. 3 days per cycle, music 2 days per cycle, art 1 day per cycle and library 1 day per cycle.
Students in grades 4 & 5 also have the opportunity to participate in string orchestra 2 days per cycle. Students in grade 5 have the opportunity to participate in concert band 2 days per cycle.
VHE morning drop-off is at the Case Dr. entrance.
If you drive your student(s) to school in the morning, please use the Case Dr parking lot for drop-off. There are staff members there from 8:40-8:50; you do not even have to leave your vehicle!
Please do NOT pull into the bus loop or use the front parking lots. The bus loop is closed to cars from 8:30-9 am.
Please do not use the side parking lot at the front of the school. Buses, delivery drivers and district visitors use the driveway by the 15-min spots, and it is not safe for students to walk from those spots to the front entrance.
