Utilize your decision letters to an applicant population you cannot offer admission to highlight your Direct Transfer guaranteed pathway back to your institution. Verto will provide you with a unique URL to your Partner Page that will allow us to report back to you, as part of the lead sharing process, students that you have referred that then inquire or apply to Verto.
We have found the that the audience tends to perform the strongest when the pathway is presented to identified applicants in their initial decision letter from your institution. It can either be presented as the pathway back to you or included in the menu of options that applicants may have to transfer in the future. Template resources to support your referral launch can be found here.
We will provide you with a trackable link to include in the messaging to students that will drive them to your Partner Page.
We also recommend sharing directory-level data with Verto so we can proactively market your Direct Transfer Pathway and personally engage students to support conversion.
When students submit a Request For Information (RFI) or apply to Verto through the trackable link you included in their referral, we are able to identify them as originating with your institution. They will be reported back to you along with our general lead generation.
Once their Verto experience has begun, students will be able to apply to your institution as a transfer student through the Verto Direct Transfer Application These referred students would follow the same process as any Verto participant that did not originate with your institution would when applying.
Absolutely! We highly encourage our partners to include a mention of the Direct Transfer Pathway on their institutional website. When they first receive the referral, many students will search for the partnership, and are reassured when they see it reflected on both websites.
Resources and partner examples can be found here.
We will provide you with a separate trackable link that drives to your partner page to include in this placement.
The Direct Transfer Admissions Pathway allows you to engage audiences that can't start with you in the fall* but could be interested in circling back to your institution. There is no limit to how many students can be referred to your Direct Transfer Pathway. Some audiences you may consider:
Waitlisted Students**
Denied Students
Unengaged Fall Admits
Incomplete Applicants
*for reasons other than behavior and finances
**While Verto’s policy for deposits is non-refundable, deposited Direct Transfer referral students with Verto can request a refund of their $500 non-refundable deposit no later than Thursday, June 25, 2026 if the student is accepted off the referring partner’s waitlist/spring admit program and the student enrolls directly with the referring partner. Refund requests must be student-initiated and submitted via email to either their Senior Admission Counselor or their Student Onboarding Advisor. All University Partnerships Account Managers are notified once requests are submitted and will reach out to the Verto main point of contact at the university to verify enrollment before proceeding with the refund request. If enrollment verification with referring partner does not support the refund request, the $500 Verto enrollment deposit will not be reimbursed. While eligible students who follow the process and timeline above will be refunded their $500 Verto enrollment deposit, fees associated with flight cancellations, visas, passports, personal experience, etc. will not be reimbursed.
Other considerations:
Verto's Admission Requirements. Would you like to filter your audience for academic/program eligibility or include all and adjust the language of the referral accordingly?
Your Direct Transfer guarantee eligibility. For example, if international students are not eligible for your pathway, they may not be an appropriate referral audience.
Next steps for the audience. All referred students will follow the same process as an organic Verto applicant, and will be advised to apply to your institution through the Verto Direct Transfer Application during their Verto term abroad.
International Student Inclusion. This will mainly be contingent on your pathway guidelines, there are other considerations as well. While we encourage international student participation and support them through the process as much as we are able, it is common that students that only participate in 1 semester with Verto struggle with the timeline for the I-20 issuance and visa turnaround to then start with partners in the spring. As such, it is likely that any international students that move forward with the Direct Transfer pathway would be encouraged to participate in a full year with Verto, giving them a longer timeline to obtain a visa.
Note - If you are also a channel partner, your invited audience(s) fulfills this Direct Transfer requirement.
