'21-'22 SCHEDULING TIMELINE

December 2020

* Teachers will make course recommendations through Genesis.

December 2020 - March 2021

* Students meet with their school counselor to discuss course selection. All students will select electives using this Elective Selection Google Form prior to meeting with their school counselor. Freshmen, sophomores and 8th graders will confirm courses during their parent conference. Juniors will meet with the counselors individually in March.

April 9, 2021

* Last day students may override teacher recommendations to guarantee a space is available in a course.

* Last day to make a scheduling request until July 2021.

July 12, 2021 - August 12, 2021

*Schedules will be released in the parent portal.

*Students who would like to request a schedule change, for any reason, will need to have a parent complete the Schedule Change Request Google Form here.

*Counselors will be reviewing the Schedule Change Request Form responses and adjusting schedules when possible on a first come, first serve basis. Reminder that the form needs to be completed by a parent in order to be valid.

* Students should check their schedule in Genesis regularly for updates. In the event a request cannot be honored, the counselor will reach out to the parent via phone. If a request is submitted with an invalid reason, the counselor will email the student/parent.

September 15, 2021-September 23, 2021 (Schedule Change-Drop/Add)

*We will be opening up the Schedule Change Request Form at the close of school on September 15th. Counselors will make schedule changes on a first come, first serve basis during this week. They will email the student and parent once a schedule change is made or if the requested change is not possible.

*Please remember that the form must be completed by a parent as this signifies their approval of the change request.

September 24 - November 24 (Level Change Period)

* Level changes will be considered based on student circumstances. Please see Level Changes section for more information. Please contact your student's counselor for more information.

* Any level change after October 15, 2021 will result in grades transferring from the original course to the new course. Teachers will have discretion to incorporate previous grades when determining marking period averages.

* Students will not be permitted to begin a new elective in order to accommodate the level change after October 1; only minimal impacts to the overall schedule are warranted.

* Any requests for level changes made after November 24 must be approved by subject supervisor and principal.
