My goal is to support teachers in leading students away from following procedures and towards developing stronger mathematical reasoning. While we want students to be able to solve problems quickly, oftentimes the standard algorithm is not the most efficient way. Introducing strategies that build number sense, flexible thinking, and mathematical reasoning will allow students to feel confident in attacking any mathematical problem they encounter.Â
