Number sense is a person's ability to understand, compare, and relate numbers. We want students to be able to visualize numbers as a physical amount of any given thing.
Counting Caterpillar
Work with your child to make and order number cards from 0 to 20 (or 10 if your child cannot count to 20). Create a number caterpillar like the one seen below.
Number Matching
Match the same amount of different types of objects together, such as 3 popsicle sticks and a domino that shows three dots.
