Google Lens (It's free!)

Use your phone's camera to search Google. Just point your camera at an object, such as a houseplant, and Google Lens will pull up information about that object.

Students can use Google Lens to get help with homework, such as step-by-step explanations of math problems. If students point their camera at a page in their textbook, or any other printed material, Google Lens can read it out loud.

Read & Write for Google

Vernonia students in grades 3-12 have access to this Google extension, which can be a game changer for those who struggle with reading or writing. When a student is using the Google Chrome browser, Read & Write can read almost any text on the screen out loud. The tool also has voice typing tools (also known as speech-to-text,) as well as built-in dictionaries.

Watch the tutorials below for an overview of the Read & Write tool, as well as tips specifically for VSD students.
