May Fund Raising - for the Sanctuary homing our sheep

Kevin Doherty is running the Bristol 10k (18th May) disguised as a black ewe.  That's cross-dressing for a cause. Here is a link to his GoFundMe.

Fund raising exceed targets

Our fund raiser for April is now closed having exceeded the target.  Many thanks to all contributors.

Roisin & Rebecca

The paradox of sheep 'farming'

Adored one day and devoured the next - lambs are the epitome of cognitive dissonance.  In the UK lambs are sent to slaughter at the very young age of 10 weeks to one year – the average age of death is six to seven month,  Roisin and Rebecca have been more fortunate having enjoyed a whole 12 months of life but their remaining days are few without our intervention.

Sheep farming is terrible for sheep, destructive on the ecosystem, disastrous for climate change and a drain on the tax payer.  The initiative is an opportunity to highlight the opportunity for agricultural reform.

SAVE OUR SHEEP

The club want to save two sheep before they go to the abattoir this week. We have agreement from a wonderful Sanctuary that they will take them and let them live out their lives in full. The for sale advert was so heartless 'they have had great lives & will pack a lot more flavour' they are just over a year old. We understand it's a drop in the Ocean, but can we ask that everyone that can donate £5, do so, it can be more if you can spare it, but we have enough vegans in the club Facebook group to be able to save Roisin and Rebecca's lives. If we can save them and transport them to safety, we will put an acknowledgement up to everyone that helped us. You can send £5.00 by bank transfer to Vegan Running Club, sort code 30-99-50, account number 29711963.
