Fitness For Life

The goal of 9th Grade PE is to teach students skills they need to be fit for life. Students will learn what goes into creating their own workouts using activities they choose and enjoy.

Students will apply the FITT(E) principle, the Principles of Training and use all the Components of Fitness to discover those activities they enjoy and develop a fitness plan that is realistic and that they can stick to in order to achieve their personal goals.

Students get to choose from different options. I know not every student is built the same or enjoys the same activities and each student has different fitness goals. Our fitness activities should reflect these differences.

CHOICE WORKOUT: SAFE

There is a Reflection Component to Everything

As important as physical activity is, it is just as important to learn the art of reflection. This is how we grow and develop. Every fitness activity has a SEL (Social & Emotional Learning) component as well as an opportunity for students to reflect.
