The National FFA Organization is a U.S.-based youth organization that promotes and supports agricultural education. Originally founded in 1928 as the Future Farmers of America, the organization changed its name in 1988 to reflect the growing diversity of agriculture-related careers beyond traditional farming. Today, FFA helps students develop leadership, personal growth, and career success through hands-on agricultural education and leadership programs.
With over 1 million members across all 50 states, Puerto Rico, and the U.S. Virgin Islands, FFA is one of the largest youth organizations in the country. It offers opportunities in areas such as animal science, plant science, agribusiness, environmental science, and technology. Members participate in leadership conferences, career development events (CDEs), community service, and supervised agricultural experiences (SAEs).
