Mrs. Mittermeier
Mrs. Mittermeier grew up in the border town of Brawley, CA and, growing up surrounded by produce fields and cattle farms, was immersed in the world of agriculture from a young age. She was an active member of the local 4-H club from the age of 5, raising and producing a variety of small animals for 12 years, as well as market goats. She was an active member of her FFA chapter all through high school, where she continued her animal adventures and began competing in speaking competitions and farm records contests, and regularly attending leadership conferences. That's when she decided that she'd like to stay a while... Mrs. Mittermeier attended Cal Poly Pomona from 2011-2017 where she obtained her Bachelors in Agriculture Science, Masters in Agriculture Science, and her single subject and Ag Specialist teaching credentials.
Mrs. Mittermeier has been working at Citrus since 2017, and currently teaches Veterinary Science, Aquaponics and Ag Leadership. She oversees the rabbit project, large livestock projects and our farm stand project, as well as coaching Opening Closing speech teams, Job Interview contestants, and the Veterinary Science CDE team.
Mrs. Cass
Mrs. Cass grew up in a suburban neighborhood, not knowing a single thing about agriculture other than the fact that animals are adorable. She attended Covina High School and was an active member of the FFA program for all 4 years. She raised broilers (meat chickens), turkeys, market hogs (pigs), and a veal calf. Along with raising livestock, she also took advantage of various leadership conferences and competed in the Veggie Judging CDE for 3 years. From knowing very little about agriculture, Mrs. Cass grew to love and be knowledgeable about the industry segments. Following high school, Mrs. Cass attended Mt. San Antonio College where she earned her Associate’s in Livestock Production and skills certificates in Animal Science Fundamentals and Livestock Production Management. She then transferred to Cal Poly Pomona where she obtained her Bachelor’s in Agriculture Science, Master’s in Agriculture Science, and her Single Subject & Ag Specialist teaching credentials.
Mrs. Cass was placed here at Citrus Hill to complete her student teaching and decided to stay with us, officially joining the team in 2023. She currently teaches Ag. Biology and Animal Science and oversees large livestock projects and coaches Creed and El Credo speaking.
Mr. Anderson
Mr. Anderson grew up on a half-acre property in Ontario, CA, surrounded by animals from a young age. His passion for agriculture was sparked early on and deepened through working at a local animal feed store before graduating high school. Originally a computer science major at the University of La Verne, Mr. Anderson felt called to educate the next generation about agriculture and made the switch to pursue that passion. He attended Mt. San Antonio College, where he earned his Associate of Science in Agriculture Technology and a certification in Livestock Production Management. He then transferred to Cal Poly Pomona, earning both his Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Agricultural Science, along with a minor in Business, his Single Subject Teaching Credential, and Agricultural Specialist Credential. During his academic career, Mr. Anderson participated in two study abroad programs—one in Costa Rica focused on sustainable agriculture, and another in Canada centered on nonprofit business management.
Mr. Anderson joined our team here at the Hill in 2024 and currently teaches Ag Chemistry and Environmental Science. He is responsible for our Forestry Challenge student team and has coached prepared public speaking contestants. He is passionate about hands-on learning, sustainable practices, and preparing students for success in the agricultural industry.
