Charles Page is a native of West Monroe, LA. He received his Bachelor of Music Education degree from the University of Southern Mississippi, his Master of Music degree from the University of Missouri-Kansas City, and his Doctor of Musical Arts degree from the University of Kansas. Prior to his employment at Valley View, Dr. Page was the Director of Instrumental Music for the Buffalo Island Central school district in Monette, AR.
Dr. Page, whose principal instrument is the tuba, is an active performer and adjudicator in the Mid-South and beyond. He is on staff annually for the Midwestern Music Camp in Lawrence, KS. He is the founder and artistic director of Jonesboro’s own Diamond Brass Band. He is the principal tubist for the Delta Symphony Orchestra. He has performed all over the state with Arkansas’ premier performing ensemble; the Arkansas Symphony Orchestra. He is a former member of Little Rock’s Natural State Brass Band and Kansas City’s international award-winning Fountain City Brass Band. In addition to competing and performing all over the country, Dr. Page traveled with the FCBB twice to the United Kingdom to tour, compete, and record albums. His playing can be heard on Fountain City’s Blue Christmas, Celebrations, and Over the Rainbow albums, on the University of Kansas’ American Landscapes and Derivations albums, on Scott Watson’s solo tuba album titled Thoughts of a Cow, and on The University of Southern Mississippi’s Voices with Brass album.
Dr. Page serves on the Spouse Executive Committee for the Arkansas Bandmasters' Association. He also serves on the National Band Association's "Merrill Jones Memorial Young Composers Band Composition Contest" selection committee.
Dr. Page lives in Jonesboro, AR with his wife, Sarah, and their two dogs, Sadie and Rosie.
