Below you'll find my samples of my attempts at learning the technology and continuing to understand how I can use technology to share a message, demonstrate understanding, and acquire new information. Be kind as several of these are works in progress. I'm trying to preach the process of learning I want our students to appreciate too. I love learning like this so much! :-)

Soundtrap is an outstanding audio recording tool. Not only can students record verbal audio, they can make music. If that wasn't amazing enough, Soundtrap also offers a collaborative experience. Seriously, it's a must have for any school district.

In this example, I'm sharing my podcast I've been working on this year. I'm not going to lie -- putting myself out there is a very uncomfortable experience. I started the podcast in the fall and kept it hidden. With great kindness, Kayla Murphy agreed to talk with me. From there, I feel like I've got to stick with this. I know with each attempt, I'll get better. And I truly believe our school of education does important work, not just in this community, but for the midwest.

Students can...
design their own podcasts on a variety of passions.
record their elders sharing stories of the past.
interview business owners or social groups for a community podcast.
produce their own ringtones that convey moods.
practice fluency by reading and listening to themselves.

I absolutely love green screen technology in the classroom. Students can simply stand in front of a still image or begin to really bend their minds and shrink themselves, add-in additional layers, use video, etc. Do ink allows for so much CREATIVITY! I recorded this clip in the same place my students would be learning.

HOW GREEN SCREENING CAN BE USED FOR INSTRUCTION:
Students can create their own fictional story using various backgrounds.
Students can shrink themselves into a scene and describe their surroundings.
Students can create a news broadcast with school-related features.

The School of Education has purchased a Mavic Pro 2 Drone. It's been a treasured digital storytelling tool! Not only can it capture great stills, it's fantastic at capturing video. This past semester, students have recorded overviews of their family farms, boarding stables, and local implement auctions. In this example, I recorded part of my brother-in-law's pasture land. I was attempting to capture an example of Harrison/Rockville township, known for their various hollows and natural springs.

Students can record footage of historical locations, impacts of natural disasters, family farms, etc. with the purpose of promotion, appreciation, or education.

I got started in 360 photography on my own time as a photography nerd. I quickly came to realize that this matters -- this will become the next phase of photography and videography. I decided to bring that passion and technology to the SOE with the purchase of 7 Insta360 One X cameras. Honestly, it's been amazing. The video to the left is my very first example when I bought my very own Theta. I decided to record a 360 video of my kids tubing on the Mississippi. From that moment, I was hooked. Since then I've uploaded over 500 photosphere images to Google Maps (Google Guide Level 8 here!). The second video was taken shortly after the first. I fastened the camera to my son's bike and asked him to give us a tour of Neshonoc Lakeside Resort. We laugh at this now because it started raining shortly after he started. He knew better than to let his mother's camera get wet!

Students can record video of unique perspectives for view on Youtube.
Students can photograph outdoor scenes for twisting into Tiny Planet photography.
