Recent awards received include the NRF black academics advancement programme funding obtained in 2023 in the post PhD section.  I've received the Developing the early researcher grant (2021).  In 2019 I also obtained the NRF black academics advancement programme funding .  The UCDG - Emerging Researcher: PhD Completion Support funding was received in 2018. 

I was also featured in the DVC Research and Innovative Magazine which showcased the research achievements of emerging researchers. The eMagazine, is themed Locating Research that Advances Sustainable Development Goals. This edition focuses on the direct and indirect contributions toward the SDGs.

My presentation, based on my PhD, received the best oral presentation award at the PHASA conference in 2021.   I received runner-up for the best paper award based on reviewer scores at the ICT And Society (ICTAS) conference in 2023.

I was nominated for the following awards at the University of the Western Cape's Research Excellence Awards: 

• Women in Research Award (2023) and

• Early Career Researcher Award (2022).
