I am a Women in Tech (WIT) member (as displayed on the left) and have project-managed initiatives between WIT and the University of the Western Cape.

I am a mentor for two post-graduate students at the African Conference for Human-Computer Interaction (AfriCHI) conference. 

I am a lecturer on the collaborative course on 'Health innovation - from ideas to impact in device development' with the University of Turku (Finland) and Moi University (Kenya) as displayed on the left. 

I am a member of:

I was invited to speak at the IT Web conference and presented the ABSA IT Audit Academy as part of our Work Integrated Learning programme.  More details regarding my presentation are available here. 

I was a keynote speaker and part of a panel discussion at Enterprise Forum, in partnership with ITWeb Brainstorm and BCX. Pioneering enterprises shaping the future of success Unlocking Value: Strategic Cost Optimisation for Real Results. 

The IITPSA Annual President’s Awards event is a major highlight of the year for many in the industry, combining prestigious long-standing awards (since 1979) with unparalleled networking opportunities. It is an event that highlights the talent and commitment of individuals within the ICT industry. Nominees include a number of prominent people in various spheres of the ICT industry in South Africa.

I was selected as a finalist for the IT Personality Award 2023. The IT Personality of the Year Award is presented by the IITPSA in association with ITWeb and the Gordon Institute of Business Science. It recognises a person who has made an outstanding impact on the SA ICT industry over the past year and a significant contribution to the IT profession.

Previous awards in the industry included being a silver award winner in the ‘Learning and Growth’ category at the Old Mutual Service Technology Administration (OMSTA) rewards and recognition event (2011) and Customer Solutions CIO and National Winner – Old Mutual Female Entrepreneur Role Model Competition (2007). 

I am the EMS representative on the Employment Equity Committee (2024 - ) and EE Forum Task Team (2025).

In the first quarter of 2020, I was appointed to fulfil the EMS Assessment Committee (EMSAC) Deputy Chair position, a position usually held by senior members of staff. I was also a member of the Senate Assessment Committee (SAC) until 2023.

In 2024, I was involved in the following committees:

• EMS Assessment Committee,

• Employment Equity Committee,

• EMS Industry Advisory Board,

• IS Department Committees – I.S Postgraduate committee, Curriculum revitalisation: Entrepreneurship team lead, and

• IS Department Work Integrated Learning coordinator for the ABSA IT Audit Academy and Sanlam, Women in Tech ‘This is Me’ programme.

I was the faculty representative on the EMS Management Committee (2023). 

I am on the Pathways to AP programme (P2AP) (2025).

As part of this programme, a 360-degree feedback based on my leadership skills was completed. 

The feedback was largely positive, noting that several leadership skills are evident.
