Mid-Fidelity Interactive Prototype
Our usability tests revealed what users love about SeeSaw and where we can improve.
What Users Loved
All-in-One Productivity – Seamless integration of goal tracking, calendar events, and task management.
Visually Engaging Interface – Users found the design appealing and easy to navigate.
Smart Organization Features – Automatic schedule gaps, task reordering, and Google Calendar/Canvas integration helped users stay on top of their tasks.
Intuitive Task Completion – Marking tasks as done felt satisfying and reinforced productivity.
Areas for Improvement
Clearer Onboarding – Users were unsure how to select goals and integrate external tools.
Smarter Task Selection – Many expected automatic scheduling rather than manual input.
Streamlined Editing – Redundant features added complexity.
More Flexible Adjustments – Last-minute schedule changes weren’t intuitive.
While SeeSaw works well for structured planners, improving flexibility and refining the onboarding experience will make it even better.
Mid-Fidelity Prototype
Based on concept testing, we made several key improvements to enhance usability. The biggest change was removing goal tracking by category completion, which reduced confusion around tracking metrics and better aligned with user preferences. This adjustment built on our previous findings from user feedback and allowed us to refine the app’s functionality. To compensate, we enhanced the onboarding experience to provide clearer guidance and shifted the focus to organization as the primary motivator for user engagement.
Onboarding
Our goal in this phase was to refine the onboarding process to better align with the app's functionality. To achieve this, we introduced a Canvas integration, goal priority categories, and an AI-powered feature that transforms long-term goals into manageable weekly milestones.
Day Setting & Visualization
Instead of using goal categories, we shifted the model to reflect a daily schedule builder, honoring the task of setting up one's schedule each day.
Schedule Modification
In the Mid-fidelity version of our app, the user was able to edit their schedule on the viewing screen. Due to concept testing, we discovered the difficulty in redundant editing tactics, that led us away from editing on the schedule viewing screen.
