The UW Parents & Families Program hosts a wealth of information to support your Husky. Browse their website and explore topics such as supporting your student in making friends, staying safe on campus, and ensuring they stay motivated. Topics are curated for First-Year families through soon to be graduates!
We have also created the RC Scholars First-Year Family Information Guide with information and links that you can use to orient yourself to UW Policies, safety concerns, and student opportunities.
We also recommend signing up for the UW Parent Insider which will keep you updated on UW happenings and tips to ensure the success of your student.
The RC Hosts several events throughout the year to support RC Scholar families. Find more information the fun and informative things we have planned below! Don't forget to check our weekly newsletter for updates.
The RC staff operates within the boundaries of UW’s FERPA policy. The Robinson Center will never discuss a student’s academic information with any party, including parents or guardians, without the student’s explicit consent for each point of contact. Students are considered consumers of their education, regardless of who pays for tuition, and no other party has rights to access student educational records. We do not accept blanket or annual consent to ensure the privacy of students. Consent, even if previously given, can be withdrawn at any time.
RC Scholar Families have access to information regarding RC Scholar events and community building opportunities:
New RC Scholar families receive information pertaining to key dates and onboarding events including Advising and Orientation through the Key Dates calendar and specific event communications sent from either the RC Scholars program or First Year Programs.
Current RC Scholar families will receive a weekly RC Scholar newsletter, the same that RC Scholar students receive. They will also have access to the RC Scholars website which contains important information for students as well as family-specific resources and information. RC Scholar families will receive specific communications from the RC Scholar program regarding upcoming events and community-building opportunities for RC Scholar families.
