If you find yourself in need of a laptop, the RC has you covered! We have a limited number of laptops that can be checked out for a day or the quarter! Stop by Joanne's office for more information.
You can also stop by the Student Technology Loan Program, located in Kane Hall, where you can borrow technology equipment for free: mics, tablets, keyboards, chargers, and more!
The RC Scholars are happy to partner with UW Academic Support programs for several services:
CLUE Tutoring: The CLUE program provides UW students with free tutoring in Biology, Chemistry, Math, Physics, Writing, and Computer Science & Engineering. Tutoring takes place both online and in Mary Gates Hall (first floor)
Exam Preparation: Attend live events featuring exam reviews for some of the UW's most popular courses.
Success Coaching: Receive individual assistance with your time management skills, goal-setting, and study strategies.
Other Online Services include:
Study Strategies: Strengthen your academic performance by reviewing information about effective reading, writing and studying strategies.
Online Learning Support: Online learning requires specific study habits. Read our guidance on how to be successful learning online.
Access their website for more information here.
As UW students, you have access to the rull range of academic support programs that are available to all students!
Directory: UW Academic Support Programs has also compiled a comprehensive directory of other UW academic support programs. Access the directory here.
Disability Resources for Students: Disability Resources for Students (DRS) recognizes disability as an aspect of diversity that is integral to society and to our campus community. DRS staff work with admitted University of Washington (UW) students to ensure equal access to UW academic programs and services.
Work with the DRS Office to determine if you may be eligible for any learning accommodations. Learn more about the DRS and the process of obtaining accommodations here.
The Odegaard Writing and Research Center: The OWRC is an interdisciplinary center that offers free writing and research support for UW students, faculty, and staff. At the OWRC, writers can find a range of resources and programs including one-on-one consultations, online resources and programming, and events.
Chemistry: The Chemistry Department's best resources for students exist in the chemistry study center. A regular study center and one specifically for organic chemistry are hosted in this space. Both instructors and TAs hold office hours in these spaces, and students are also able to meet with study groups and work on homework, etc. The study centers are staffed by TAs, so there is always someone available to answer questions: https://chem.washington.edu/study-centers
Chemistry faculty have also put together a list of learning strategies that can be particularly helpful for students studying chemistry: https://chem.washington.edu/catalyze-your-success-learning-strategies-students
Outside of the Chemistry department, it is recommend that students utilize resources such as CLUE and the IC.
Math: The Math Study Center is a great place for students in Math 120, 124, 125 and 126 to study. You can work with other students and get help from tutors when you are stuck: https://sites.math.washington.edu/~msc/
