Humans are social creatures. Having friends and family can increase our happiness and contribute to resiliency (Southwich & Charney, 2018). Connections can be built through giving support and receiving support in difficult times. Connections can also be built in support groups with others who are facing a similar situation.

Sno Co Bereavement Groups
There are local support groups in Snohomish and King County that offer services for the many different faces of grief: losing a child, losing a parent, a spouse, suicide and traumatic accidents. I believe that online groups are also supportive, but being in a room with others who share your experience can be very powerful and forge new friendships.

Social support I live in Lynnwood, Washington.
There is an establishment of new friendship city relationships with other countries outside of the United States to exchange their community's cultural and traditional values. This friendship enhances diversity and creates a more culturally integrated society and fosters the opportunity for communities in both cities to share an idea that advances cultural understanding, appreciation, and respect for others. However, I am not a committee member, but I support the vision and help them to promote the project.

The Journey Program is offered through Seattle Children's Hospital and it offers support for people who have experienced the loss of a child. They offer counseling services, support groups for both adults and siblings, and education for bereavement.

Postpartum Support International (PSI)
For the work i do, i find it hard to find local support groups out of facebook, but postpartum support international provides virtual and in person support for fetal loss. I think greif is hard no matter what but something about an infant is just debilitating so this is a great resource for parents, and nurses.

I did some research and found a website GriefShare.org
It looks very nice, you can sign up for a daily encouragement, you can find a local group, there are seminars, support group discussions and you can start your own group. I would use this website to encourage anyone suffering from the loss of a family member or friend.

I have found a local support group after COVID-19 in the greater Seattle area. COVID-19 has created unimaginable loss, and the Healing Center is open now. It is held virtually, and the grief support options span all ages and stages in any grief process.

The support group I found is called Healing the Spirit. It has multiple locations and different ways of how support group can assist in the grieving process. It helps people of different ages and a character of the event. Because grieving process is multidimensional, different approaches are also provided through this network. Any person can call and set up a consultation or receive resources on how to move forward.

I found Open to Hope, https://www.opentohope.com/. This site has a variety of opportunities to heal, such as podcasts, articles, and sessions are available for counseling. Being part of an organization or being able to connect can help tremendously. I have received help in various other ways that has been healing. I think we each need to find something that 'speaks' to our soul and our hurt when going through loss.
