Please be prepared to switch between your Microsoft Edge or Chrome browser tabs after you complete step 1 below or arrange your browser windows so they are side-by-side.
Click the following link to navigate to our school website:
The menu at the top of our school website's home page is shown in the screenshot. Notice there are two views shown -- View #1 and View #2. The width of your browser window will determine which view you see on your device.
2. Hover over the LOGIN menu option (i.e. place the cursor over the word LOGIN, but do not click). The menu item is circled in the screenshot for View #1 and View #2.
3. When you hover over the LOGIN menu, it will expand as shown.
Click "CANVAS Student Login" from the LOGIN dropdown menu. (See the red arrows in the two screenshots.)
4. Select "Log in with Active Directory" on the login page.
5. You will land on the "Sign in" page as shown in the screenshot.
Enter the following where the screenshot says "Enter student's email address here."
firstname.lastname@uviewstudents.org
(e.g., john.adams@uviewstudents.org)

If the student attended our school previously or if the student has the same first and last name of a student who is already enrolled, the last name might have a "1" or some other character appended to it as shown below.

Refer to the Enrollment confirmation email from Student Services if the standard email format does not work and if appending a "1" does not work, or have the Learning Coach ask the Learning Coach Partner to verify the email address.
If you are unable to login to Canvas today, your account will be ready soon. Don't worry. Just have your Learning Coach call or send a Remind message to the Learning Coach Partner to notify them your account is not ready.

6. Click the Next button to continue the login process.
7. Enter the student's assigned password in the password field.
The format is:
first name initial last name initial date of birth
The initials are lower case.
There are no spaces in between initials or between the formatted birth date.
The two-digit month, two-digit day, and four-digit year separated by forward slashes.
An example is shown below for student Buddy Demo whose birthdate is June 5, 2006:
bd06/05/2006
8. For security purposes, you may enter a new password when you are prompted to do that.
Please write down the password in a location where you can find it later. (You will be glad you followed this instruction.)
9. Follow the remaining prompts until you land on the Canvas Dashboard.

Your Learning Coach needs to retrieve some important information from your account so that the Canvas Observer account can be created. If your Learning Coach is not taking the course right there with you, please try to alert him or her about the next page. The instructions on the upcoming page cannot be ignored. Thanks for helping.
