During my DNP practicum, I engaged in diverse activities designed to strengthen my clinical leadership and scholarly competencies. These included:
Leadership Development: Conducting interviews with DNP-prepared nurses to explore professional identity, leadership roles, and the application of the DNP in academia. Participating in webinars on succession planning, legislative advocacy, and ethical leadership.
Scholarly Growth: Completing modules on writing for the sciences, backward curriculum design, and research publication strategies. Contributing to curriculum development projects, including alignment with AACN Essentials.
Mentorship and Collaboration: Meeting regularly with a mentor to discuss coursework, systematic review progress, and the practical application of DNP competencies.
Clinical Education Enhancement: Attending Certified Nurse Educator preparation courses to refine teaching skills and develop evidence-based coaching strategies.
These experiences allowed me to expand my expertise in nursing education, enhance my leadership capabilities, and prepare for impactful contributions as a DNP-prepared nurse.
