Test Flight is a unique event for high school students to experience what it is like to be a music major or minor at the University of Tennessee at Martin.
Attendees will hear performances, meet our world-class faculty, interact with current UTM Music students, and take a campus tour.
Seniors must sing or play an audition for acceptance into the Department of Music.
While you're here for Test Flight, you can also audition for the Music Department.

2024 Tentative Schedule - Monday, Feb 19
All students attending an On Campus Test Flight event will attend the following during their visit:
Registration
Department of Music Welcome and Tour of Fine Arts
Concert from current UTM Students/Faculty
Q&A with music faculty and students
Free Lunch
UT Martin Admissions Campus Tour and Information Session
Auditions (for seniors only)
Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Can I attend Test Flight if I am not a high-school senior?
A: Absolutely! Freshman through seniors are welcome to attend.
Q: Can my parents or family members attend Test Flight?
A: Yes, we encourage parents to attend Test Flight. Parent informational sessions will be offered as well.
Q: Is lunch provided?
A: Yes, lunch will be provided for participating students and their families. When you register, please indicate how many guests will be joining you when prompted.
Q: When does Test Flight end?
A: All on campus test flight events will be from 9:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. However, if you are not auditioning for the Department of Music during your visit, you can leave early.
Seniors will be assigned an audition and/or music education interview time between 1:00 and 4:00 p.m.
