Director of Surgical Clinical Anatomy
My clinical responsibilities center mostly on providing Attending staff coverage for the Organ Transplant Service at Walter Reed, with duties that include the clinics, evaluations, in-patient and post-op care, and living and deceased donor transplants. Academic activities center on didactics for students of several health care fields, and research in the role of robotics in transplantation.
At USUHS, my duties as the Surgical Anatomy Leader in Anatomy focuses on bridging and demonstrating the clinical utility of the Anatomical sciences within the several surgical disciplines. In assisting as a lab TA to the planning and development of the renovations toward the Anatomy Education Suite, the primary goal is to create and demonstrate a greater visibility of the contemporary relevance of Anatomy in clinical medicine. My research interests for the Department also reflect these goals, and center on the role and uses of digital technologies in Anatomy education.
