Week 1 (March 30th - April 3rd)
Everyone will sign in to their Journey 2050 account and play the online farming game. It emphasizes sustainability and emerging technologies in agriculture.
Week 2: (April 6th - April 10th)
Continue playing Journey 2050. Must complete the game by April 10th. A report will be sent to us teachers.
Week 3 (April 13th - April 17th)
Begin understanding the basics of common insects in Kansas. Start our Entomology collection project.
Week 4 (April 20th- April 24th)
Continue and finish entomology collection project.
Week 5 (April 27th- May 1st)
Introduce shop safety with tips and machinery/tool identification. Develop and practice a basic understanding of the welding process through online Welding Simulator application.
Week 6 (May 4th- May 8th)
Informational agriculture Tik ToK/Review Video to summarize student learning of the agricultural industry and wrap up course.
Week 7 (May 11th-May 14th)
Time dedicated to focusing on students who need extra time and/ or help to finish classwork and be prepared to move on to the next course.

Assignments will be posted on Sunday or Monday and completed by 9pm on Friday. Students can review a project (Farm Show example) to make up points which have been missed. Assignments will mostly deal with equipment / Tool Safety. Students will watch skill video and review or respond via google form from classroom. 30-45 minutes a week

Activity 8.2.2: Choose two animal diseases to research from the list and complete a disease fact card. Everyone researches coronavirus (as related to animal science).

Week 2: (April 6th - April 10th)
Activity 8.2.3: Students will diagnose mystery diseases and provide treatment recommendations.

Week 3 (April 13th - April 17th) AND Week 4 (April 20th-24th)
We will be working on creating a Virtual Ag Week on the Farm for preK, K, 1st and 2nd grade students in the district. They will possibly film educational videos of their animal projects and research fun activities kids could do at home to learn about ag. Other possibilities are doing read-a-long to ag books, coloring pages, outdoor activities, etc.

Garden research project (30 minute assignment)
Week 2: (April 6th - April 10th)
Design your garden bed based on an area at your house. If you choose to actually make the garden you design, I have cucumbers, radishes, okra, tomatoes, marigolds, zinnias, and bell peppers currently in the school greenhouse that we could arrange to get to you.
Week 3: (April 13th - April 17th)
Perennial Garden Bed Project, Watch Expert Guest Speaker Video
Select and area at your home to plan for (as with the garden, you don’t have to make it but will need to design it as if you were going to install)
Week 4: (April 20th-24th)
Design activities for a virtual Ag Week on the Farm for pre-K, K, 1st, and 2nd graders in our district.
