Welcome to CTE @ Washburn Rural High School
Work Based Learning Success Story
Excel in CTE better prepares high school students for college and careers by offering state-funded college tuition in approved technical courses offered by Kansas technical and community colleges. Olivia Ndungu, a 2022 graduate of WRHS, attended Washburn Tech for a half-day during her junior year of high school and earned a Certified Nurse Aide (CNA) certificate. As a senior, Olivia enrolled in Health Care Workplace Experience and worked for part of the school day at a local health care clinic. Olivia shares her insight on how CTE and Work Based Learning has positively impacted her future in this video. Congratulations, Olivia! We wish you continued success in your future academic and career endeavors.
