How to apply
▪ Submit a cover letter and resume’ in PDF format to scholarships@silverlakebank.com by March 15, 2023.
▪ The cover letter and resume’ should address criteria outlined above and include current school, post-secondary plans, and why the candidate is deserving of the scholarship.

Kansas CTE Scholars Program
The Kansas CTE Scholar initiative is an opportunity to recognize well-rounded outstanding Career and Technical Education (CTE) students finishing their senior year of high school.
Criteria
All four criteria are required to earn the Kansas CTE Scholar achievement. Students should complete the application as specified in the CTE Scholar Guidebook. The four criteria are as follows.Senior level who has earned or presently enrolled in 3.0 or more credits within a pathway with CTE GPA of 3.5 or better in CTE coursework.
Technical Skill Attainment:
Earned end of pathway assessment/certification for completer status
Certifications on Kansas Pathway Assessments and Credentials (K-PAC) list
Earned Excel in CTE Qualifying Recognized Credential aligned to pathway
Earned 9+ college credits aligned to pathway
Complete a high-quality WBL experience in career prep category aligned to pathway according to the WBL Digital Reference Guide
Civic engagement with verification letter OR 100 hours of community service
Career Vision Summary Statement, less than 175 words
Kansas Promise Act Scholarships
The Kansas Promise Scholarship Act provides service scholarships for students to attend an “eligible postsecondary educational institution” in specified programs.

Students must:
·Complete the required scholarship application;
·Complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA);
·Enter into a Kansas promise scholarship agreement; and enroll in, and complete within 30 months of first being awarded a Kansas Promise scholarship, an eligible program at an eligible institution.
The bill permits students to enroll on a part-time or full-time basis, but students must maintain satisfactory academic progress toward completion of the promise-eligible program and complete the program within 30 months from the first award. Upon completion of the program, students must reside and work in Kansas for a minimum of two consecutive years or enroll in a Kansas institution of higher education and subsequently reside and work in Kansas for a minimum of two consecutive years.
PROMISE SCHOLARSHIP ELIGIBLE PROGRAMS
Each Eligible Program must be in one of the four fields of study
Information technology and security;
Mental and physical healthcare;
Advanced manufacturing and building trades;
Early childhood education and development; OR
One additional program designated by the institution and identified as Eligible by the Board of Regents, if the additional program is a two-year associate degree program or a CTE certificate or stand-alone program that corresponds to a high wage, high demand or critical need occupation.

If an additional program is designated by an institution, the program must be kept in place for at least three years, at which time a new program may be selected, as long as it corresponds to a high wage, high demand or critical need occupation.
The O’Brate Foundation is committed to helping youth with limited resources succeed in reaching their educational goals and becoming positive contributors to society. We invest more than just money in our scholars by providing each of them a staff mentor to help work through the challenges of adjusting to college. In addition, we also provide our scholars with Financial Literacy programming and Personal &Professional Development opportunities and workshops. Our Traditional College Scholarships are based on financial need, renewable and range in size from $500 to $5,000 annually.
