About 6th Grade Band

All students who participated in 5th grade band at their elementary school are invited to participate in 6th grade band at Andover Middle School. 6th grade band meets every other day on a rotating A Day/B Day schedule. Students are grouped into classes by instrument families and ability level demonstrated by the end of 5th grade band. 

6th grade band classes focus on continuing to develop instrumental skills and further musical knowledge. Students will receive detailed instruction on the fundamentals of their instrument, practice techniques, and beginning ensemble skills. 

Students will perform at two concerts during their 6th grade year. The first concert is in the fall (usually in December) and the second concert is in May. Both of these concerts take place after school.
