The AHS Band Program involves students in two spring concert bands, marching band, color guard, jazz ensembles, pep band, and numerous solo and ensemble settings. Band students thrive in academics, activities, and athletics offered at AHS and beyond. We are very proud of our well-rounded students who excel in a wide variety of venues. Alumni of the AHS Bands can be found in collegiate music programs across the nation, and as successful professionals in numerous fields.
Music is one of the few forms of expression which does not require someone to win or lose to be appreciated. Our program believes that all students can and should have the opportunity to experience music as a performer. It is hoped that the music taught will challenge each student, help them learn to express themselves, and learn to understand themselves and others through their personal efforts to grow.
