Jazz Ensemble I meets year round during 0 Hour (7:00 - 7:45AM) and is the highest performing jazz band at AHS. This ensemble has received numerous I ratings at festivals throughout Kansas, regularly clinics with local professional musicians, and has produced many talented musicians currently playing professionally or studying jazz at the collegiate level. Members of Jazz Ensemble I perform a diverse range of music genres and students are highly encouraged to write their own music for the band to perform.

Andover High School Jazz II Ensemble meets from November - May during 0 Hour (7:00 - 7:40) Monday-Friday. This ensemble is open to all students who are interested in participating in jazz. It is a great opportunity for students to learn secondary instruments and further develop their skills so they can be a part of Jazz I in the future.
Jazz II plays a variety of styles in the jazz genre, including swing, blues, Latin Jazz, pop, and contemporary pieces. Students will gain more knowledge about music theory, learn improvisation skills, and further develop their music literacy skills.
