How Remote Learning Looks in 7th ELA during COVID-19
1
check-in email
always send a check-in email
this is so I can take attendance
What goes in the email?
here's an example:
in the subject line: check-in 3rd block ELA on Monday, Sept. 14
in the body: say hi, hello, good afternoon, etc.
if I do not reply back, go ahead & start coursework that has been sent to you
if required in Zoom, show-up & participate
7th graders must send a check-in email even if they are to be in Zoom
here's a video about this if you need a demonstration
2
access the work & do it
see the email sent to you
the subject line will have the date & the class name
do the work during class time
work is posted in Daily Dose in Google classroom
if you have questions:
you can email me & I will try to respond (remember, I may not be by my computer)
address those questions in your checkout email
copy of the bell schedule

blue days:
3
checkout email
send a checkout email
here's an example:
in the subject line: checkout for 7th ELA on Monday, Sept. 14
in the body: tell me what you got done today (see examples below)
all items 1-4 were done
1-2-3- are done, but I'll finish 4 later today
1-2-3 are done, here are my ?s about item 4
if you were in Zoom, you'll leave the meeting when dismissed & won't need to send a checkout email
here's a video about this checkout email if you need a demonstration

In a nutshell, remote students are to
send a check-in email
access the work & do it during class time (show-up in Zoom or Meets if that was assigned)
send checkout email listing what was done
