Make-Up & Late Work Policy
Meeting Deadlines
Meeting deadlines is an expectation of this class.
LATE WORK will result in partial credit earned.
Amount of Credit Earned
90% left in locker/online procedure not followed
80% late: turned in later that day or the next by 8:10 am
70% 2 days late & in by 3:20 pm
after that, not accepted; no credit = 0 (see note below)
after 2 days late, work is usually not accepted, but there may be exceptions; student: discuss this with the teacher
The teacher has the right to extend deadlines for course work in certain situations.
For habitual late work, a modification of the consequences may occur.
Make-Up Work
MAKE-UP WORK is to be completed in a timely manner without a reminder. Students have two evenings to complete make-up work. It is due at the start of that students' block. Make-up work can turn into late work if not done in a timely manner.
If necessary, talk to the instructor about an extension or exception, but do so at an appropriate time. See examples below.
Gone Mon., picked up work Tues., so student has Tues. evening and Wed. evening, so it is due Thurs. at the start of the student’s respective block, or at the latest, by end of the school day.
Gone Tues., picked up work on Wed., then gone again on Thurs. & returned Fri.? Student & teacher will talk about the due dates.
Teacher will do her best to grant requests to get paperwork to the office should a student be home ill; however, most items will be posted and linked in Daily Dose, so notifying her will not be necessary.
Students should always also consult the pick-up make-up work tray in the classroom.
Requests for compiling work ahead of time due to lengthy absences will not necessarily be granted, so the student will work 1:1 with the teacher upon return to classroom to set reasonable due dates.
