School safety is of the utmost priority at the Upper Pittsgrove School. The district has a multilayered approach to school safety and security that enhances the security of the school and the safety of our students and staff.
Security at the Upper Pittsgrove School consists of:
An armed school security specialist that is responsible for monitoring the building and grounds, and for making recommendations to better secure the school.
Cameras are used to monitor the building and grounds
Locked door mechanisms are on all doors
All visitors/parents/guardians must be granted access through a buzzer lock system.
The buzzer/intercom button at the main entrance must be pressed to notify school personnel that someone wishes to enter the building. When using the intercom, please identify your name, the student’s name, and the reason for access.
Please note that parents/guardians need to ensure that a student arriving late to school gains access into the building by using the buzzer/intercom system.
Everyone entering or exiting the building must report to the Main Office to be signed in by a member of our office staff. A visitor’s pass or late slip (for student's arriving tardy) will be issued at that time. Please be sure to bring your state issued driver’s license EACH time you enter the building, to ensure proper identification can be made.
