The Upper Pittsgrove Community exists to foster an educational environment for all of our children. By working cooperatively, we hope to create a desire to learn by developing positive attitudes and promoting social and emotional development so our children may become responsible, productive, caring and knowledgeable members of society.
You would like to confer with a teacher: Email your child’s teacher to arrange for a conference. A complete staff directory with email addresses is located on the home page of our website www.upsnj.org.
Your child becomes ill at school: A student who has become ill while at school is instructed to go to the nurse’s office. If it becomes necessary to send a student home, the school nurse will notify you. Your child will be monitored while awaiting your arrival. The nurse will also notify the child’s homeroom teacher.
You plan to move: Contact the enrollment staff member, Mrs. Parkell, at (856) 358-8163 ext. 1009. A transfer card will be issued to you which must be presented when you enroll your child in the new district.
You change your address (within district), telephone or other emergency contact information: Please notify the school office immediately.
DISMISSAL CHANGES
We use PickUp Patrol to track student dismissal information. If you need to change how your child should be dismissed, you should submit that information via PickUp Patrol and our staff will be notified of the changes.
New parents will receive an email with instructions on how to register. Once registered, be sure to review the default dismissal plan in PickUp Patrol and confirm that it is accurate, so that your child can be dismissed correctly.
Plan Changes
Changes can be entered via PickUp Patrol from a phone, computer or tablet at any time up until PARENT CUTOFF TIME of 2:30pm on the day of the change.
After PARENT CUTOFF TIME, changes will not be accepted except in the case of an emergency. The end of the school day is a busy time. To ensure all students' safety, please plan accordingly and limit these exceptions to emergencies only.
Attendance Reporting
If your child will be absent from school, report the absence using PickUp Patrol before 8:00am on the day of the absence. You may also use the attendance line by calling 856-358-8163 and selecting option 2.
Late Arrivals, Leave & Returns and Early Dismissals should also be submitted via PickUp Patrol.
Your child needs to be dismissed early: Under NO circumstances may a student leave school without adherence to the following procedure:
If need for dismissal is known in advance, the parent must report this early dismissal in PickUp Patrol as soon as possible. The parent cutoff time for entering changes in PickUp Patrol is 2:30pm. When not known in advance, please call the school office.
No student will be dismissed to any individual not listed on the emergency contact list without prior parental notification
You wish to change your child’s mode of transportation for dismissal: If you need to change your child’s regular dismissal plan, please follow these important guidelines:
All changes must be reported through PickUp Patrol as soon as possible.
The cutoff time for parents to enter changes in PickUp Patrol is 2:30 p.m.
Bus changes are not permitted. Students may not ride a different bus. Assigned bus numbers can only be changed permanently by contacting the transportation coordinator. Example: You may change from bus to carpool, or carpool to bus, but not from one bus number to another.
NOTE: For the safety and security of all students, no dismissal changes will be accepted after 3:00 p.m. We understand that true emergencies can occur, but late changes cannot be accommodated.
Your child needs to be picked up from an extracurricular activity: Throughout the year students may attend or participate in extracurricular activities, clubs or sports. Students must attend a full day of school in order to participate in any activity. Please be aware of the scheduled pick-up time for your child and arrive promptly after the activity to ensure their safety. Repeated late arrivals will result in your child’s removal from future participation in the activity. Drop-offs are only permitted if your child is participating in the activity, club or sporting event. Drop-offs are not permitted for spectators and parents are required to stay with their children in this circumstance. Please remember to make the change in your PickUp Patrol account that your child will be attending a club or activity.
Arriving at the school for any reason: Please stop at the Main Office to sign in upon entering the building (you must have your state issues driver's license ready). Trespassing or loitering is strictly prohibited. Individuals are not permitted to wait in the hallway at the end of the day. Parents must wait outside unless they have official business in the school.
Parking: Please park in spaces on the side of the building at the lower wing parking area or in the visitor lot out front. Parking is NOT permitted in the fire lane, along the chained barricade, anywhere alongside yellow curbed areas or as designated wherever No Parking signs are posted.
