What is the role of a professor in a flipped classroom?

In a flipped classroom, the professor does not give direct instructions. Instead, they become facilitators who set up the content and strategy and provide a welcoming learning space for students to explore. According to Lai et al. (2018), flipped teaching requires additional time and demands several challenges for teachers, including dramatic changes in the practical operation of activities and instructional patterns.
