Refer to the detailed set of guidelines and procedures for MA LLE thesis students below to help you make sense of all the forms and templates provided.
In your first semester under the thesis course, you should work on writing your capsule topic proposal draft 5-7 content pages, see topic proposal template above.
For the first semester AY MA LLE students enrolled in LLE 300 for the first time (and those few from an earlier cohort that do not have an approved thesis topic yet) are required to submit only one (1) topic proposal, preferably the one he/she worked on in LLE 290. The proposal will be evaluated by the program faculty.
The research topic that students will work on for the LLE 290 will be the research topic that they will be expected to work on for their thesis. The LLE 290 FIC will provide further guidance about this.
As early as your first entry in the MA LLE program, you should begin reviewing the literature about the topic you have in mind. Doing so will help you see the research trends as well as the research gaps about the various aspects, angles, or variables of the topic.
Lastly, note that the thesis advisers are there to guide and help shape the direction of the thesis work, but the thesis students (you) are expected to assume responsibility and exert all means available to conduct academic research worthy of a graduate thesis work in UP.
