Rizal Park, widely known as Luneta Park, is an iconic and historical park, as it is the location where the country’s National Hero, Dr. Jose Rizal was executed. We came to Luneta Park on weekend so it is quite full of people who had picnic with their family. We tried sorbetes (this is very delicious ice cream!) and taho (Filipino silken tofu with sago pearl and sweet syrup). At Luneta Park, we met fellow SEA-Teacher participants from Universitas Negeri Surabaya (UNESA). We also had photo session in front of Jose Rizal Monument.
Welcome to the Philippines National Museum of Natural History! This museum has 5 floors with different theme in each floor. We can go up straight to the 5th floor with lift. Here we can see Philippine biodiversity with rooms designed to resemble the original. There is even a room where we can listen to animal sounds. Then, there are also histories of natural disasters with speakers explaining the information if we are under the sensor.
The Walled City of Intramuros, Manila, is also a historical place worth to visit. Here we can tour around the place with the carriages rent for visitors with a tour guide in each carriage. There are a lot of instagrammable spots with Spanish-architectured buildings.
Mall of Asia is the big mall near the seaside located Pasay City. There are a lot of shops, entertainments, and restaurants. The spot we visit is the amusement park, were we ride the ferris wheel. Because we visited on weekend, the mall was so crowded, but it was worth to visit!
Located near our dorm in Marikina, Marikina River Park is a park on the riverside. We rented bicycle to tour for 1 hour. We also tried the street food such as kikiam, isaw, kwek-kwek, and iskrambol. That was a fun wednesday afternoon with our buddies!
By riding the jeepney, we visited Marikina Riverbanks Center. This is a shopping complex in Marikina. They have supermarkets and also some tenants. There were a Christmas festival on the park near the lake, with many food tenants and playground.
