In line with UP Manila's commitment to uphold academic and research integrity, the following guidelines must be adhered to regarding the submission of academic and research requirements, effective immediately:
For UPM students and PGH trainees
All students and trainees are required to attach a signed Attestation Form for the
following submissions:
• Thesis
• Dissertation
• Special Projects
• Research Proposals
• Completed Research Papers
The attestation will serve as a formal declaration that:
1. The submitted work is the student's or trainee's original work;
2. Proper citation and acknowledgment have been provided for all external
sources, references, and contributions; and
3. The work complies with the University's policies on academic integrity and
intellectual honesty.
Submission Process
1. The Attestation Form is available through the UP Manila website under the Office of Research Integrity [Office of Research Integirty, University of the Philippines Manila]
2. It must be duly signed and submitted, alongside the academic or research requirements.
3. Proposals with incomplete submissions will not be processed or considered for review.
Completed research papers and other intellectual outputs with incomplete submissions will not be processed for evaluation or grading.
Enforcement
Failure to submit the attestation or violation of the attestation's content will result in disciplinary action as per the University's academic policies.

To further promote and uphold research integrity within UP Manila, the Office of the Vice Chancellor for Research (OVCR), through the Office of Research Integrity (ORI), is launching a Virtual Learning Environment (VLE) Online Module Course on Research Integrity (RI).
All UP Manila research proponents are required to complete the VLE Online Module Course on Research Integrity (RI) as part of the requirements prior to research registration with the Research Grants Administration Office (RGAO). For students and thesis adviser/s, the course is mandatory prior to the submission of the thesis proposal. Certificates issued from any RI Education Caravan are valid for three (3) years from the date of issuance. Research proponents shall retake the course as needed.

Please abide by the provisions of the NGOHS Code of Graduate Studies pertaining to the procedure of the proposal defense and seek your thesis/dissertation adviser and reader/critic's approval of the full manuscript.
Make sure that all the panel members agreed on the final date and time of the proposal defense.
Accomplish the NTTCHP Nomination of Thesis/Dissertation Advisory Committe Form with the names, contributions and conforme of the panel members.
The thesis/dissertation adviser and reader critic should be full time NTTCHP faculty.

A thesis panel should have 5 members including the adviser and critic whereas, a dissertation panel can have 5 - 7 members. They should at least have a master's degree to be eligible for the Theisis Panel and a PhD degree for the Dissertation Panel.
A maximum of 2 non-NTTCHP panel members, who are experts in the field, can be included i.e. from other UPM units or from other instutions.
You can check the NTTCHP Website for the profile of the NTTCHP Faculty, whom you want to be part of your panel. Click here.
In the NTTCHP website, click their names then in the next frame, click "Google Scholar" so you can view the list of their researches and publications.
Their resesarch interests can help you decide whom you will include in the panel and help you fill out the Nomination Form as to their contribution to your research proposal.
Ask the external panel members to sign the Nomination form for conforme then upload the form to the Google form for NTTCHP OCS Student Requests for OCS to assist in seeking the conforme of the NTTCHP faculty panel members.
Once the nomination form has been fully signed by all the panelists, accomplish the NGOHS_NOTICE-OF-MASTERS-THESIS-DISSERTATION-PROPOSAL-2021-1
Three weeks before the scheduled proposal defense, upload the accomplished NTTCHP Nomination of Thesis/Dissertation Advisory Committe Form and NGOHS_NOTICE-OF-MASTERS-THESIS-DISSERTATION-PROPOSAL-2021-1 to the NTTCHP OCS Student Requests and also request for the TCG in the same Google form.
Wait for an email from the SRE to acknowledge the requests.
At least a week before the scheduled proposal defense, the student candidate should send the digital copy of the manuscript to all the panel members following the UPM Manual for Format and Style of Thesis and Dissertation 2013.
The copy of the Thesis/Dissertation Panel's appointment papers from NGOHS will be emailed to the thesis adviser and advisee prior to the defense.
After the successful proposal defense, kindly accomplish the NGOHS Result Proposal Form which should be signed by all panel members as the technical review approval.
Once you have the fully signed NGOHS Result Defense form, please give OCS a copy.
Remind your thesis/dissertation adviser to submit to NGOHS the report of the proposal defense and fully signed NGOHS Result Proposal form, then cc: OCS.

Applicants should NOT be in MRR status.
Thesis/Dissertation Proposal has already been approved.

1. Approved Request Letter Addressed to the Dean with the recommending approval of the thesis/dissertation adviser
2. Report of the Results of Thesis/Dissertation proposal defense signed by the thesis/dissertation adviser addressed to the NGOHS Director
3. Approved Result Proposal UPM NGOHS Form
4. Abstract
5. Proposed budget or Line-Item Budget (LIB)

Thesis/dissertation assistance program by accomplishing the UPM-NGS-OP-03F1 Application Form B, to be signed by thesis adviser and Dean and then emailed to NGOHS via upm-ngohs@up.edu.ph.
