Whether it’s detecting motion, tracking position, or monitoring environmental conditions, sensing technologies make modern computing systems aware and responsive.

The rationale for this theme is that sensing is not just about hardware—it’s about turning raw signals into actionable insights. Projects may involve designing algorithms for localization, integrating multiple sensor inputs, or developing smart sensing systems that adapt to changing conditions. By blending accuracy, efficiency, and context-awareness, students learn how to create systems that can truly interact with and respond to the real world.
