Greetings!
Good day EnE Students,
We are sending two survey links: Course Demand Survey and Research Topic and Potential Adviser Survey. Kindly accomplish this until January 05, 2024.

Notes/Reminders:
Course Demand Survey
Do I need to answer this survey?
-Yes, we highly encourage. This is to determine what ENE subjects/courses can be offered for the coming semester. This will also refrain us from offering a subject that later on will be dissolved due to lack of students or does not meet the minimum class size for a graduate class.
Will this survey guarantee that the subject/course will be offered?
-Most likely Yes, if there is a high number of demand (or at most will meet the minimum class size). It is guaranteed to open/offered for the coming semester and will be given priority to search for an instructor.
-There is also a slight chance that the demanded subject will not be offered due to:
* It was offered already from the previous semester (unless it is "highly" demanded) to give way for other ENE subjects that were not yet offered and might be required or needed by some students to take.
* There is no instructor available. (Though, we will still look for it as much as we can)
-I or some of us want to have ENE <specific> subject but it seems it will not be offered. What can we do?
*During the enrolment/registration period, you may write a letter of appeal to open a subject including all the names of those students who are interested in taking that same subject.
How about non-EnE subjects?
-If you have noticed the program checklists, we have other non-EnE subjects. These are subject to their respective units/department if they will offer/open it next semester. You may inquire this to the respective units (e.g. ES subjects > ICE, IE subjects > DIEOR, ChE subjects > DChE, etc.)
Who needs or "required" to accomplish thesis adviser survey:
-Those who already have at least 12 units earned.
*You might have a hard time to enroll in any subjects if you already have 12 units earned since you will be tagged with delinquency "no thesis adviser yet."
-Those who do not have yet earned 12 units but want to be included in the list.
*You can also answer the survey. Although, priority will be given to those students "required" to have advisers and there is a possibility you will not get an adviser yet.
Other concerns about advisee-advisership:
Transfer of Adviser
For those who need to transfer to another professor as an adviser, Kindly consult first your current adviser and then the adviser-to-be. Once both professors agree, you may request for a Transfer of Advisership form from me(Omar) or NGSE.
Adviser Acceptance Form
-Once you were assigned to an adviser, you need to accomplish another form "Thesis/Dissertation Adviser Acceptance Form." You will be given this form once notified about your assigned adviser.
-Can I have an adviser from a different unit or non-EnE faculty affiliate?
*a No and a Yes. No, you must have a main adviser from EnE faculty affiliates. Though you can have non-EnE faculty affiliates as co-adviser. Or in rare cases, you may need to consult first the EnE Program Coordinator to discuss it further.
-What if a non-EnE Faculty affiliate but COE faculty?
*You may need to consult the EnE Program Coordinator for further discussion :)
-What if I have an adviser from another country due to e.g. collaborative research
- You still need to have an adviser coming from UP Diliman and an EnE Faculty Affiliate.
Thank you and keep safe!
