This policy, directed at university deans, directors, and department heads, emphasises the adoption of sustainable and energy-efficient building practices as part of USK’s commitment to environmental stewardship.

Key aspects of the revised policy include the use of energy-saving materials, architectural designs that promote natural ventilation and lighting, and the integration of environmentally friendly systems for cooling and lighting. Additionally, all construction and renovation projects on campus are required to undergo regular evaluations and submit reports on their energy efficiency performance. The Green Campus team at USK will monitor these reports to ensure compliance with energy standards.

To enforce these standards, a supervisory team has been established to oversee project planning and implementation, conducting field inspections, and providing recommendations for improvement.
