Women's Housing and Shelter

Eligibility: Men and women aged 19 years or older. No other restricts.

Cost/Payment: No fees for services, except for permanent supportive housing, which is based on income.

Description: Siena Francis House provides emergency, low-barrier shelter, case management and other immediate services, as well as permanent supportive housing and residential addiction treatment for persons experiencing homelessness, with our ultimate goal of helping all clients achieve housing out in the community. Eligibility: Individuals 19 years and older currently fleeing from domestic violence. Must undergo screening process through the 24-hour hotline. (402) 558-5700

Cost: No cost, services are free.

Description: Catholic Charities provides emergency shelter and temporary housing for victims of domestic abuse at an undisclosed location to protect the safety and privacy of their clients. After shelter support for domestic violence survivors such as employment and housing services are also available. Call to arrange a safe pick up.

Eligibility: Must call provider for information.

Cost: No fee for shelter. Support Groups free or sliding fee scale. Counseling services is by sliding fee scale or insurance coverage.

Description: Provide emergency concealed shelters to survivors of domestic abuse and will pick you up to take you to their shelter if needed. Clients can receive counseling, group therapy, job connections, and housing assistance. In addition, outpatient therapy is offered. Advocates are available 24 hours, either on scene or at the hospital to assist in emotional support, information of rights, and aide in communication with police and healthcare professionals.

For Protection Orders


Description: Provides protection orders for domestic abuse, harassment, and sexual assault victims.

Requirements: Must bring a daytime address for the person who you are filing against, a piece of valid government issued I.D. with your photograph and your signature.

For Monitoring Custody Status of Abuser


Description: A free and anonymous telephone and website service that provides victims of crime information and notification of offenders' custody status.

Counseling and Advocacy Services


Eligibility: Must be 19 years of age and older.

Cost: Free services for victims.

Services for Victims:

Offers access to an attorney, case management services, counseling, support groups. They can provide greyhound bus tickets for relocation purposes, lock changes, food and gas voucher, and a cell phone with 5,000 free minutes as needed.

Services for Batter's: 16-week Batter's Prevention Program for males with a court order. This is not a free service.

Description:

Emergency Shelter and Temporary Housing for a secure, temporary place to stay along with care and support. Residents can stay for up to 28 days. After Shelter Support- Resources and referrals for employment and housing needs. Domestic Violence Advocates develop individualized plans for victims and their children.
