Culturally Relevant & Responsive Teaching (CRRT) Component
The component objective is
“Assist STEM faculty and graduate assistants (GAs) to develop culturally responsive teaching strategies.”
To achieve changes in faculty inclusion of culturally relevant and responsive pedagogies and practices, this component has a two-pronged approach:
faculty and graduate students will attend culturally relevant and responsive professional development [STEM Faculty Professional Development Program on Culturally Responsive and Relevant Teaching (SFPD-CRRT) Modules] throughout the academic year, and
faculty will implement strategies learned through the development Modules to modify existing course curriculum and/or pedagogical instruction.
The three specific deliverables of this component are:
Professional development of 40 STEM faculty
Professional development of 30 graduate students
Training materials as 8 STEM Faculty Development modules
