Objectives and Learning Goals

Effective learning objectives address the standards, identify the knowledge, skills and big ideas students need to learn; are meaningful and important; are personally relevant; use the most appropriate words; are easy to understand (Knight, 2013). 

Students’ goals in relation to the objectives help their brains connect to effortful thinking and stay committed to learning (Goodwin, Rouleau, Et. al., 2023).
