UNIFORMS
25.A.
Flight Attendants shall wear their uniform as prescribed in Company regulations at all times while on duty as a member of the crew or in public view. and such other times as may be prescribed.
25.B.1.
Newly employed Flight Attendants shall be supplied with required to purchase their first basic uniform, as provided for in paragraph 25.C.1.a., below, a small suitcase, and a large suitcase, as provided for in paragraph 25.C.1.b., below, at Company expense. The cost of alternations to fit the uniform to Company standards shall be borne by the Company through expense reimbursement with receipts for actual cost. e. and accessories. Such purchase may be made either on a cash basis or an authorized payroll deduction basis not the exceed 5.0% of the total cost of said uniform and accessories per month. The Company will provide a non-wool uniform to newly employed Flight Attendants with wool allergies on the same cost basis as newly employed Flight Attendants using wool uniforms.
25.B.2.
Newly employed Flight Attendants authorized for alternative uniform pieces through the Reasonable Accommodation Program shall be similarly supplied with such pieces on the same basis as newly employed Flight Attendants using the standard uniform pieces at Company expense.
25.C.1.
The female Flight Attendant uniform shall consist of the following items or their equivalent:

Two (2) suiting garment – jacket or equivalent

Five (5) tops – shirts, blouses, or equivalent

Two ties or scarves, as appropriate

25.C.2.

25.C.3.
The Company shall provide the same selection of coats for both males and females. The Flight Attendant basic uniform winter coat shall provide at least the same level of protection as the 2019 optional wool winter coat 2009 Melton wool optional coat. If an optional coat is made available, it shall be made available within the yearly point allotment.
25.C.4.
Flight Attendants authorized for alternative uniform pieces through the Reasonable Accommodation Program shall be supplied with replacement pieces on the same cost basis as Flight Attendants using the standard uniform pieces pursuant to paragraph 25.D., below. The Company shall provide non-wool uniforms for Flight Attendants with wool allergies.
25.C.5.
Flight Attendants on a leave of absence, voluntary furlough or involuntary furlough will receive uniform points once cleared for upon their return based on the following:
25.C.5.a.
All unused uniform points on the effective date of one of the above referenced statuses will be made available to them her/him upon once cleared for their her/his return;
25.C.5.b.
Any uniform points accrued prior to the effective date of any of the above referenced statuses for use in the following year will be available to them once cleared for their upon return;
25.C.5.c.
The combination of unused and accrued points will not exceed the yearly maximum points accrued by a Flight Attendant who is not on any of the above statuses;
25.C.5.d.
Consistent with current policy, points will not be accrued while on any of the above referenced statuses.
25.D.1.
The Company shall replace all basic, optional, and accessory uniform items (utilizing annual point allotment) and one (1) of the following accessory items, will be replaced at Company expense when necessary due to normal wear at no cost to the Flight Attendant. The Flight Attendant may choose which of the following accessory items shall be the no cost item.

25.D.2.
The replacement of all other accessory items due to normal wear shall be the responsibility of each Flight Attendant. The replacement of all other accessories shall be paid for by the Flight Attendant on a cash basis or by credit card if the vendor accepts credit cards. Only if the vendor does not accept credit cards shall the use of payroll deduction be authorized by the Company and will be limited to purchases of $50.00 or more.
25.D.3.
The Company shall determine when replacements of any uniform or accessory items are required.
25.D.4.
If during the period of their probation, a Flight Attendant’s employment is terminated, voluntarily or involuntarily, or they leave the Flight Attendant position they will be required to return all items provided under paragraph 25.B.1., above, to their respective base upon their termination. Failure to do so will result in a deduction from their final paycheck for the actual cost of the items not returned. and a replacement item has less than one season’s wear or six (6) months if a year round uniform, the Flight Attendant will be required to purchase the Company’s equity at 60% of the original cost on a prorated basis for use.
25.D.5.a.
Flight Attendants will receive 430 uniform points per calendar year, to be used for replacement of basic and optional uniform pieces, and accessory items. Unused points will expire on December 31st of each year, except as provided above, and may not be rolled over to the following year. New hire Flight Attendants will receive a prorated point allotment based on the month they are hired available for use in starting in their thirteenth month of employment.
24.D.5.b.
Uniform points shall be valued at one dollar ($1) per point.
In the case of a major uniform style change, the Company shall replace all uniform items, the handbag, purse and the small suitcase, and the large suitcase at no cost to the Flight Attendant. This does not apply to new pieces that the Flight Attendant is not required to obtain. If a uniform style change does not include a style change in handbag purse, small suitcase or large suitcase, no replacement will be required except as defined in Paragraph 25.D.
The Company shall furnish insignia (wings) required to be worn by the Flight Attendant and, shall replace the insignia when necessary due to normal wear. Flight Attendants may remove their name insignia when off the aircraft.
25.F.1.
The Flight Attendant may choose their preferred name for use on the name bar, subject to approval by the Company.
The Company shall bear the cost of all approved alterations required to properly fit a Flight Attendant in a new uniform or resulting from a Company required style change in the uniform. Such alterations must be requested by the Flight Attendant within one month of uniform use. Cost of alterations requested by the Company or resultant from defects in the material, shall be borne by the Company. Alteration costs or the purchase of a new uniform or parts thereof due to weight adjustment shall be borne by the Flight Attendant.
When the style change requires a uniform fitting, the Company shall make every effort to assure that each Flight Attendant shall make no more than two (2) visits to the approved tailor. If a Flight Attendant is required to make more than two (2) visits to the approved tailor, such Flight Attendant shall receive per mile expenses at the rate established by Company policy, for mileage to and from the Domicile and the approved tailor. Flight Attendants may accomplish any necessary fittings at the geographic base location that is most convenient for them.
The Company agrees that any personnel other than Flight Attendants on the System Seniority List, with the exception of Company employees covered under Section 3.M., will be attired in something distinctly different than the Flight Attendant uniform except as provided below.
If the Company makes optional uniform items available for purchase by Flight Attendants, the purchase shall be paid for on a cash basis, by credit card or with uniform points. Only if the vendor does not accept credit cards shall the use of payroll deduction be authorized by the Company and will be limited to purchases of $50.00 or more. Inflight Attire Should the Company require any special inflight attire, the Company shall provide such inflight attire at no cost to the Flight Attendant.

Upon completion of International Purser initial training, International pursers will be provided with any International Purser uniform component(s) at Company expense. Replacement of one (1) International Purser uniform component per calendar year will be provided at Company expense. If there is more than one International Purser uniform component an International Purser is required to wear, the Company will be responsible to replace one (1) of each component per calendar year. The replacement of all other accessory items due to normal wear shall be handled in accordance with paragraph 25.D.1., above.
