THE LETTER OF AGREEMENT
between UNITED AIR LINES, INC.
and
THE FLIGHT ATTENDANTS
in the service of UNITED AIR LINES, INC.
as represented by
THE ASSOCIATION of FLIGHT ATTENDANTS
This Letter of Agreement is made and entered into in accordance with the Railway Labor Act by and between United Airlines. Inc. (the “Company”) and the Association of Flight Attendants - CWA. AFL-CIO (the “Union”).
WHEREAS during the negotiations between the Company and the Union (collectively, the ‘‘parties”) leading to the 2025.2030 Agreement (the “Agreement’’), the parties agreed upon terms for notifying the Union of certain incidents; and
WHEREAS the parties recognize that the timely notification of these incidents is important to creating a cooperative safety environment for our Flight Attendants: and
WHEREAS the parties desire to memorialize the list of incidents that require notification and the manner in which that notification must take place;
NOW THEREFORE, the parties to this Letter of Agreement hereby agree as follows:
The lnflight Service Emergency Manual (currently known as Accident/Incident Response Procedures or future equivalent) will be amended to include the incidents listed below and the method of communication.
The following incidents shall require notification via phone to the United Master Executive Council Safety, Health and Security Chairldesignee, pursuant to the terms of Section 19.8.1. of the Agreement:
Crash
Hijacking
Threat level 3 or 4
Threat level 2 directed toward the Flight Attendant
Turbulence with Aircraft damage or serious injury
Aircraft Cabin preparation for evacuation
Evacuation
Sabotage Threat (Specific Threat requiring Aircraft search. FBI or Diversion)
Passenger Death
Fire
Depressurization
Flight Attendant illness or injury requiring hospital trip or EMS.
ISD
Passenger restraint
Political Unrest - Immediate Crew Movement
Terrorist Event- Layover or Base location
Natural Disaster
The following incidents shall require notification via email to the United Master Executive Council Safety, Health and Security Chairldesignee pursuant to the terms of Section 19.B. of the Agreement:
Flight Attendant ENSL or illness requiring general medical care
Severe Turbulence without Aircraft damage or serious injury
Threat Level 1
Flight Attendant Injury layover or inflight
Threat level 2 not directed toward the Flight Attendant
Passenger Serious Illness – CPR, AED or Divert
Political Unrest - non immediate movement
Crew Safety/Security Event
This list may be modified as necessary upon mutual agreement of the parties.
The parties to this Letter of Agreement hereby agree that it shall run concurrently with the 2021 - 20XX Agreement. and shall be subject to the provisions pertaining to duration and amendment therein.
